Introduction
A leading global banking and finance client sought to relocate from Beijing's Financial Street to a less prominent, nostalgic district during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Vestian was selected through a competitive tendering process to manage this high-profile project, which involved moving into an older building with significant challenges.
Challenge
Our client's relocation involved moving into an older building that presented numerous challenges, including wear and tear and aging MEP systems. The COVID-19 pandemic added another layer of complexity, forcing all project meetings to be conducted online while maintaining the original schedule. As Lead Consultant, Vestian needed to coordinate a host of other consultants, including Design, MEP, QS, LEED, and sub-consultants for lighting and acoustics, to deliver a cohesive solution.
Solution
Vestian developed a comprehensive strategy to meet the client's needs despite the challenging circumstances. We leveraged our strong management and communication skills to effectively coordinate all consultants and stakeholders through online meetings, ensuring seamless collaboration throughout the project. Our team implemented meticulous logistics planning and site control measures to address the building's existing issues and upgrade necessary systems.
By carefully managing each aspect of the project and maintaining clear communication channels, we not only met but exceeded expectations, completing the relocation ahead of schedule. Our ability to navigate the complexities of the pandemic while delivering high-quality results impressed the client, leading to an additional award for their Shanghai office re-stacking project. This success demonstrated Vestian's adaptability, expertise in managing complex projects, and commitment to exceeding client expectations even in challenging circumstances.
